ROAR IS A REGISTERED ANIMAL RESCUE, FOUNDED BY A GROUP OF DEDICATED INDIVIDUALS WHOM HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN RESCUING, REHABILITATING AND REHOMING PETS IN NEED FOR OVER 15 YEARS. THERE ARE MANY ANIMAL RESCUE GROUPS AND ANIMAL WELFARE ORGANIZATIONS IN OHIO, BUT THERE IS NO SHORTAGE OF PETS NEEDING OUR HELP.
Our mission is to aid the animal welfare community in its efforts to improve the conditions for animals in the state of Ohio by educating the public about animal welfare issues and legislation and engaging individuals to support the animal rescue community and increasing the amount of volunteer assistance in all aspects of the animal rescue community. We strive for a community where no adoptable companion animal is killed simply because it is homeless or in need.
We will promote and/or network animals with other rescues and we will be a resource for you to advertise and/or organize your transports.
If you would like to adopt an animal but do not know where to start, please, contact us. If you are interested in providing a foster home and need some direction on how to do that, please, contact us. If you are a rescue who is in need, whether it be volunteers, networking or donation, please, contact us. We are here to help.
***R.O.A.R is registered with the Department of Agriculture of Animal Health in accordance with Ohio Revised Code 956.06 Animal Rescue License.
WHY CHOOSE US?
Loving pets of all sizes and shapes are waiting in the hopes of finding a forever home. When you adopt from ROAR, you free up a house for us to take in another dog in need. You save not one, but two lives.
Rescues can make wonderful, life-long companions if only given the chance. People often think rescues only take in the dogs who have health or behavioral problems, this is simply not true. Rescues are filled with great dogs, puppies, even pure bred dogs who would like nothing more than a chance at a happy life. Rescuing a dog is far less expensive than purchasing a dog from a pet store or a breeder. Our dogs are vet-checked, vaccinated, and spayed/neutered prior to being adopted.
Rescue dogs make wonderful companions. Some have never had a home, others were abandoned or surrendered by their previous owners. Some are the victims of divorce, illness, allergies, a new baby, inexperienced owners, a move that didn’t include them, and many other reasons. But most rescue dogs are loving animals who are grateful to have a second chance at a happy life. They can and do bond with their new owners, and become the most devoted and loving of family dogs.
Here at ROAR we strive to match pets with their people. We want to ensure that the puppy or dog that you add to your family is in fact, the right dog. We will never push you out the door or pressure you to adopting a pet that will not fit into your lifestyle, and ultimately be returned to us or another shelter. Our volunteers are here for you and will be available to assist you with questions and concerns that arise while you and your new family member adjust to a new, happy life.
Remember, rescue groups don’t always get the beautiful, well-behaved animals. We get the ones who are victims of over breeding, neglect, abandonment, & abuse. They come from the streets, from filthy pens, from lives lived in crates. Most of them have never received proper veterinary care until they arrived at ROAR. They’re scared, depressed, anxious, angry, & sick. Many of them have given up on themselves, on people, & on life itself.
But here at ROAR, we don’t give up. We believe that these dogs are wonderful creatures with feelings, capable of giving back much more love than you could ever imagine. They just need a little time — time to heal & time to trust again. So please, consider adopting on of our dogs, make their life better, and yours! A rescued animal will reward you with more love than you know. A rescued animal will make you a better person.
